Sixteen Commercial Properties Win The Outstanding Building of the Year® Awards

BOMA International Honors Excellence in Commercial Real Estate

(SAN ANTONIO – June 27, 2018) The commercial real estate industry honored 16 commercial properties with The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY®) Awards last night at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s annual conference, the 2018 BOMA International Conference & Expo in San Antonio.

The TOBY Awards are the commercial real estate industry's highest recognition honoring excellence in commercial building management and operations in specific categories of building size or type. To win an International TOBY Award, a property first must win both local and regional competitions. Judging is based on community impact, tenant and employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators. A team of expert industry professionals also conducted comprehensive building inspections. This year’s program featured the debut of two new categories: Mixed-Use and Public Assembly Building.

The following properties were honored with 2018 TOBY Awards:

In the Corporate Facility category, the winner is Target Northern Campus in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The property is owned and managed by Target Corporation. Target Northern Campus also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program® building.

In the Earth category, the winner is RBC WaterPark Place in Toronto. The property is managed by Oxford Properties Group and owned by 85 Harbour Street Holdings Inc.; CPP Investment Board Real Estate Holdings Inc.

In the Historical Building category, the winner is Édifice Sun Life Building in Montreal. The property is managed by Bentall Kennedy (Canada) LP and owed by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada. Édifice Sun Life Building also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the Industrial Office Building category, the winner is Henderson Commerce Center IV Phase III in Henderson, Nevada. The property is owned and managed by Harsch Investment Properties, LLC.

In the Medical Office Building category, the winner is Hoag Health Center Irvine – Sand Canyon in Irvine, California. The property is managed by California Commercial Real Estate Services and owned by Shady Creek, LLC. Hoag Health Center Irvine – Sand Canyon also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the Mixed-Use category, the winner is Ponce City Market in Atlanta. The property is managed by Jamestown Commercial Management Company and owned by Jamestown PCM Master Tenant LP. Ponce City Market also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the Public Assembly Building category, the winner is Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Dorval, Quebec, Canada. The property is managed by Aéroports de Montréal and owned by Transport Canada.

In the Renovated Building category, the winner is US Bank Tower in Los Angeles. The property is managed by Hines and owned by OUE. US Bank Tower also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the Retail category, the winner is Tarzana Village Walk in Tarzana, California. The property is managed by Madison Marquette Retail Services, Inc. and owned by Aslan II Tarzana VW, LLC.

In the Suburban Office Park Low-Rise category, the winner is 6100 & 6303 Waterford in Miami. The buildings are managed by Cushman & Wakefield and owned by MetLife Real Estate.

In the Suburban Office Park Mid-Rise category, the winner is Primera Towers I-V in Lake Mary, Florida. The buildings are owned and managed by Parmenter. Primera Towers I-V also are BOMA 360 Performance Program buildings.

In the Under 100,000 Square Feet category, the winner is 165 Commerce Valley Drive West in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The property is managed by Northam Realty Advisors Limited and owned by Northam CCPF Tenco (CVD) Limited. 165 Commerce Valley Drive West also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the 100,000 to 249,999 Square Feet category, the winner is 980 Howe in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The property is owned and managed by Manulife Real Estate. 980 Howe also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the 250,000 to 499,999 Square Feet category, the winner is 8200 Tower in Bloomington, Minnesota. The property is managed by Cushman & Wakefield and owned by ML-AI Normandale, LLC. 8200 Tower also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the 500,000 to One Million Square Feet category, the winner is 100 N Riverside in Chicago. The property is managed by CBRE and owned by Boeing 100 N Riverside, LLC. 100 N Riverside also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.

In the Over One Million Square Feet category, the winner is Bank of America Plaza in Dallas. The property is managed by the Peloton Commercial Real Estate and owned by Dallas Main LP. Bank of America Plaza also is a BOMA 360 Performance Program building.
