FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C | Toronto – The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) community is celebrating a major international achievement. Lisa Baroldi, President & CEO of BOMA Edmonton and North, has been awarded the Sustainability Trailblazer Impact Award at the CREW Network gala in Austin, Texas, a prestigious global recognition for exceptional leadership and measurable impact in the commercial real estate industry.

The annual award, presented by CREW Network, an organization that advances women in commercial real estate, honours a change maker who does not accept the status quo and instead strives to help their company make a positive change in the world. CREW and BOMA are strong partners, with BOMA being the longest-standing global commercial real estate association, focused on supporting the world’s building professionals to elevate how existing properties perform, serve, and sustain their communities. Baroldi first received a local Edmonton CREW award in 2024 before being winning the internationally before 1,500 attendees at the annual CREW Convention.

Baroldi was recognized for work spanning environmental leadership, social innovation, and governance transformation. She spearheaded a regional growth strategy for BOMA BEST to advance building performance, launched Canada’s first Indigenous Inclusion Project in commercial real estate, and championed rural and northern inclusion so that industry growth benefits more communities. She also sponsored youth-focused diversity initiatives such as REET Institute and led board modernization efforts that improved transparency and accountability across the organization. Under her leadership, BOMA Edmonton and North has become a model for collaboration and responsible growth.

“Lisa’s leadership is a point of pride for our entire national network,” said Benjamin Shinewald, President and CEO of BOMA Canada. “Her vision and energy reflect the best of what BOMA stands for: collaboration and impact. By connecting environmental performance with inclusion and good governance, she has shown how BOMA associations can lead real change locally and beyond.”

“BOMA International congratulates Lisa on this extraordinary recognition,” said Mary Lue Peck, Chief Operating Officer of BOMA International. “Her leadership exemplifies the values that unite the BOMA network globally: innovation, integrity, and community. Lisa’s success shows how local associations can drive meaningful progress and set new standards for our industry.”

“The award win was a big surprise, and I’m grateful to my board, the BOMA community, Edmonton CREW, and everyone who helped make it possible,” said Lisa Baroldi, President & CEO of BOMA Edmonton and North. “Commercial real estate isn’t always associated with this kind of work, but there are many positive changes happening across the industry, and BOMA is helping lead them. I’m glad this award reinforces that effort and reminds us that inclusion, sustainability, and good governance truly matter.”
