About the BOMI-HP®
The BOMI-HP® Designation program gives professionals an in-depth understanding of how to define, initiate, pay for, complete, and obtain a return on investment for sustainable initiatives within all segments of a building or portfolio.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Identify the critical no-cost and low-cost sustainable initiatives every building professional can implement now.
- Identify and engage business stakeholders by demonstrating the value of investments from a 3BL approach
- Implement project delivery using a whole-building approach by bundling retrofit projects that maximize potential benefits
- Illustrate the value of high-performance projects through operational-focused and asset-focused industry benchmarks and tools
- Attain top-to-bottom organizational buy-in for sustainable building initiatives
What Will I Learn?
In the BOMI-HP® Designation program, will learn to create and apply sustainable initiatives to optimize current and future high-performance building operations. In addition to responsible environmental stewardship, you will learn to maximize cost-savings for your building or portfolio. Requirements
There are no experience requirements to enroll in the BOMI-HP Designation program.
Competency Credits
Professionals who have prior education in an area that overlaps with BOMI-HP may be eligible to receive credit for one or more courses. To review the requirements, please refer to the Administrative Competency Chart which outlines what is eligible and how to apply for course credit.
BOMI-HP® Course Requirements
In order to apply for the HP Designation Program, the completion of the following courses are required:
High-Performance Sustainable Building Investments
Identify and engage business stakeholders, illustrate social and environmental returns, illustrate the value of high-performance projects, implement whole-building approaches, leverage financing resources, and address methods for marketing project successes.
High-Performance Sustainable Building Practices
Implement benchmarking protocols and strategies, explore sustainable opportunities to improve building operations, build an effective sustainable operating plan, and engage stakeholders to ensure adoption and full integration of high-performance initiatives
High-Performance Sustainable Building Principles
Understand and tackle building performance issues, integrate high-performance building standards and guidelines, identify and overcome the hurdles to achieving true high-performance, and attain top-to-bottom organizational buy-in for sustainable building initiatives.
