The Global Real Estate Workforce Survey will close for submissions on September 19, 2025.
This global benchmarking initiative—conducted with Ferguson Partners and supported by 19 leading CRE associations—offers the most comprehensive insights into workforce demographics, organizational culture and inclusive practices across the industry.
Formerly known as the Global Real Estate DEI Survey, the study now casts a wider lens, capturing not only representation but also policies on pay equity, employee engagement, and access to real estate careers.
The last edition (Volume 3, 2024) included data from 216 firms, covering 296,902 employees and $1.98 trillion AUM, offering critical insights on hiring, retention and career development.
Supported by associations including AFIRE, AIA, APREA, AREF, BOMA, BPF, CFMA, CoreNet Global, CREW Network, EPRA, NAIOP, NAREIM, NCREIF, OSCRE, PFA, PREA, RICS, REALPAC, and ULI, the Survey represents a global collaboration to strengthen the industry’s talent foundation.

Key Findings from the 2024 Survey
Among the insights from the 2024, Volume 3 survey:
- 96% of firms had some form of inclusivity-related policies in place; 56.4% reported formal strategies.
 - Employee representation of women ranged from 39.8% to 45.6% across regions surveyed.
 - In the US, 30% of employees identified as belonging to underrepresented racial or ethnic groups.
 - Dedicated budgets for inclusivity initiatives were present at 36.3% of firms, up from 30.4% YoY.
 - The top policy with demonstrated impact was scholarships and internships aimed at expanding the candidate pool—a shift from prior years where work-life balance ranked highest.
